A Family of Morris Dancers

Open to all

What we Stand For

Basically, Morris for all! Mixed, male and female Morris sides are equally welcome, as are dancers or musicians who wish to become individual members.

We believe that Morris is a living and evolving tradition. Whilst we aim to uphold a high standard of performance amongst our members, we consider that it is at least as important that our members should enjoy their dancing. Morris should be FUN!

What we have to offer

We like to arrange activities which bring members together. Each year we have a Weekend of Dance, hosted by a different "volunteer" side on its home territory. We also organise instructional sessions covering aspects of Morris, such as different styles and traditions of dancing. Additionally, there are workshops for musicians, fools, animals and so on.

Open Morris events are publicised in our magazine "Dancing On", which comes out three times a year. In the magazine, members (and non-members too!) get a chance to air their views and grievances relating to Morris matters. There are also regular Secretary's newsletters to keep things up to date.

Open Morris member sides are automatically entitled to free public liability insurance, which gives cover of up to 2,000,000 GBP.

Membership currently costs 20 GBP per year for groups, and 6 GBP for individuals.
