What Ho   -  Six dancers with long sticks perform in a triangle; or is it a circle?

Black Shuck had two complex dances : Six Pints and What Ho. They both had brilliant bits, and they both had terrible bits. I wrestled with this for years, the bad bits were too bad to dance out with the good bits. One day, Clerical Error asked me for something special, and then it became obvious : graft the good bits together. Now it is a precision dance, sure to impress other Morris Dancers. When Black Shuck folded, and became Flying Tatters, the new team adopted this as a show dance.

Day off

Oh, we did a workshop in the evening, but I've been paid not to tell youchaps how it went. It will, however, be on the best selling video thatfollows this tour. H will be taking orders for tee shirts, the book, thepork pie and the novelty condom, all bearing the tour logo.

I think I may be the only current Berkeley Morris muso on the list right now...

Speaking for all of us, thank you. We were _really_ hoping that someone who'd actually heard the tunes *played* would show up so we could learn them, but we slogged through 'em anyway. We've even managed to *remember* some of those tunes we learned on the spot. ;}

I didn't realize rabbits shed their fur, like cats. I wouldn't have guessed October as the month they did it in, but the evidence was indisputable.Tufts of grey fur adorned every beer bottle I set down, each mysteriously emptied. The only clear view I got of H he was smirking, the rat. It was a bad idea, putting sticks in the hands of the people in San Luis Obispo. With the sole exception of myself, none of them had danced morris in a geologic age. But the now geriatric former Holyrood and Sixpence members still swung with the same enthusiasm, if not skill. The knot on my forehead is hardly visible - the one on my shin makes getting in and out of the car abit painful, though. Some irresponsible English-speaking person has been calling Paul a "teacher", a term very difficult to apply in any proper sense. "Voyeur", perhaps - he must really go through those video cameras. I was disappointed to see that he couldn't hold his drink. Perhaps standards for that aren't the same everywhere. Just cause you can hang with the L.A. crowd...

I can see that not only has Paul M. probably had a wonderful effect on the dancing out there on the Left Coast, but he's been giving writing lessons in his spare time?

Mary Beth <-- really enjoying it all, even from afar, <sob>

Ahhh...

Thank-you Alan and Norah,

I'm feeling much better now, safe in the knowledge that Paul will return to these island shores safe in the knowledge that his reputation is still intact and that we all recognise him for the 'qualities' he really has.

Welcome Home Paul!

Well, Paul just finished for the night and all I have to say is, It wasn't my fault. H must have put something in the five or six beers that I had. I was just walking along, when these people made me dance. Honestly!
